ME YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW
Kurátorka Viviana Checchia
"...East Art Map provides an indispensable foundation on which to build future histories of European art - ones that will hopefully fracture the geographic binary to focus more closely on specific mediums and connections and differences both within and between the European regions." (Claire Bishop)
East Art Map is probably one of the closest editorial example of the analysis of the network.
Me, you and everyone we know will represent, as many symposium, shows and seminars, a cute and interesting investigation about the network that is naturally growing up in and around East European Countries. In this case the network will be quite personal and connected to the curator’s link.
The East Networks in this show is an example of new research into practices of informal exchange and patterns of alternative communication between artists, curators, critics in and out the Eastern Bloc. This show explores the ways in which artistic ideas are able to transgress old national and ideological boundaries through networks of friendship and artistic collaboration .
